Job Title: UI Designer
Location: Universal City, LA
Duration: 6 months plus
Skills:
A strong visual design sense focusing on Web user experience. Site
layout and navigation expertise with an understanding of the effects
of DHTML and AJAX. Prototyping with design mockups and CSS for both
Web and mobile applications.
Client is looking for a strong Interaction & Visual UI Designer to
help design the user experience for its next generation Web and mobile
marketing solution.
The ideal candidate will be a highly creative and innovative self-
starter with a strong background in designing interfaces based on
usability principles and interaction best practices.
Also, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing
cutting-edge, preferably consumer-oriented, external-facing Web sites
and applications. The candidate will possess a passion and talent for
innovative visual design while understanding who his or her users are
in order to create a fluid, rich, and easy-to-navigate customer
experience. Experience translating the design for use on mobile
devices is a major plus, but not required.
Needed Competencies:
- 4-6 years experience designing user interfaces for Web and/or
collaborative applications, servers, and/or mobile devices (experience
in the email and/or collaborative applications field is a plus).
- Strong visual design sense and graphical/illustration skills, along
with prototyping skills on interactive visualization technologies such
as DHTML, CSS, AJAX, etc.
- Experience in defining & documenting end-to-end user experience,
including user workflows, application layout, design of specific UI
screens and components.
- Ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team and produce
quick concept designs & prototypes. Flexibility to iterate frequently,
with a passion & drive towards building world-class solutions and
applications.
- Must be a highly collaborative team player who will thrive in a fast-
paced, rapidly growing environment. The team is friendly,
professional, and passionate about everything they do!
- Ability to brainstorm well with development and management team and
give and take constructive feedback.
- Ability to influence others to support decisions. Comfortable
working with developers to implement designs and work around software/
hardware limitations.
- Experience working in a rapid application development environment
using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Academic background in human-computer interaction, interaction
design, graphic design, computer science, or related field. Strong
technical background a major plus.
Description:
• Review use cases for interface considerations.
• Create storyboards, screen shots and documentation for the user
interface.
• Prototype analysis and design for marketing management Web site,
including searching, reporting, and administering the application.
• Usability testing and collaboration with development team through
the development process.
• Experience in product interface usability, human factors, design
psychology and user interface design standards.
• User experience architecture utilizing use case analysis.
• Product interface design that is easy to understand "out of the box"
and efficient to use ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Business Intelligence and Analytical application concepts and
product experience.
Key Deliverables:
• User Interface Design Standards.
• Storyboard and prototypes for Business Intelligence applications.
• Usability testing.
• Product documentation and User guides.
