Pointe Technology Group is currently searching for a Usability
Specialist. This person will support our client, Social Security
Administration, in Woodlawn, MD(Baltimore). This is a multi-year
contract with a competitive annual salary and benefits. All employees

Interface Designer/Human Factors Specialist: Provide User-Centered
Design support and leadership to project teams supporting a federal
agency. This includes the ability to derive business processes,
analyze user needs, assist in requirements definition, design browser-
based interfaces, and design and conduct usability testing.
Required:
Bachelors degree in Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors Engineering,
Visual Design, Instructional Systems Design, or similar.
Direct Interaction/Interface design experience of 10 years to include
User-Centered Methods and User Analysis
Direct experience with consulting to Federal agencies.
Experience with contextual inquiry methods.
Experience is eliciting business goals and user needs.
Experience creating Personas and Scenarios of Use.
Experience in creating and refining screen prototypes
Experience designing and conducting formative and summative usability
tests in both formal and informal settings
Ability to document user requirements, screen designs, and design
recommendations
Ability to prepare and present findings and recommendations in large
and small group settings
Thorough understanding of iterative software development methods
Understanding of Requirements Definition process
Ability to lead project design teams
Ability to mentor team members
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
Excellent written and verbal skills
Additional desired skills include:
Graduate degree in Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors Engineering,
Visual Design, Instructional Systems Design, or similar.
Experience with Section 508 compliance
