  Interesting. I have an agent, which walks through the rich text items of &lt;br&gt; an application an deletes certain parts. After each deletion I also have &lt;br&gt; to recreate the objects, or else the navigator gets confused. Seems like &lt;br&gt; the methods of NotesRichTextItem don&#39;t always work reliably. &lt;br&gt; Regards

  Found a solution. After the AppendTable command (actually, after &lt;br&gt; you&#39;re finished populating all the table cells,) delete and re-create &lt;br&gt; the object reference to the rich text field: &lt;br&gt; Delete rtField &lt;br&gt; Set rtField=doc.GetFirstItem(&amp;quot;rtFi eld&amp;quot;) &lt;br&gt; This does not remove the rich text field from the document, but &lt;br&gt; flushes it and re-builds it in memory.   I want to use a Rich Text field to create a report containing both &lt;br&gt; text paragraphs and tables. I am using NotesRichTextParagraphStyle &lt;br&gt; objects to control alignment of the text.   Neither strings nor text fields have such a restriction. Text fields can &lt;br&gt; be about 64kB, IIRC, strings can be very large. Maybe you put some &lt;br&gt; characters into the string, which notes cannot handle? &lt;br&gt; In this case I would rather create a MIME entity in the document and set &lt;br&gt; the appropriate headers. You can then use it to store your HTML
