RTF File Format (Mail Body)

Notes API allow the Mail Body to be inserted from or extracted to a
file in RTF format. But the format doesn't seems to be the same as
the RTF file created by WinWord? That is, file extracted cannot be
view in WinWord, nor is file created in WinWord RTF cannot be inserted
into the body. (I have tried to extract the body into a RTF file and
inserted in into another mail body which works fine, why?)

The 'RTF' file you get when writing RichText files to disk seems to be in
Lotus proprietary (CD) format. I circumnavigated this problem by doing an
edit level export on the specific document. This generates a real RTF
file that can be viewed or printed by WinWord or NotePad. You will have
to do some experimenting as the export is not documented. Reading the
header file helps.
