CREATE BARCODES IN LOTUS NOTES

A requirement might arise for you to generate bar codes using data in
a Lotus Notes application. Barcodes can be displayed and printed in
Lotus Notes quite easily using a Windows barcode font. For example, I
tested and recommend a basic font package from IDAutomation called
"Code 39 Barcode Font Package" (prior version known as EZ Barcode Font
Package), but there are several other types of advanced barcode fonts
packages available depending upon your barcoding requirement.

OVERVIEW OF AN IBM LOTUS DOMINO CLUSTER REPORTING TOOL
Using the tool, Domino administrators can track databases across
servers in a cluster and receive a list of the databases that includes
details such as on which severs the databases exist, and whether or
not (1) cluster replication is enabled, (2) the database size is
within acceptable limits from the average database size, and (3) the
document count is within acceptable limits from the average document
count for each database. The data is collected on a daily basis and is
presented in graphical format, helping administrators to identify the
issues at a database level and to take the necessary corrective/
preventive actions, and to track the changes for each database in a
timely manner.

CONFIGURING AND TESTING THE IBM LOTUS DOMINO DAOS FEATURE
Introduced in IBM Lotus Domino 8.5, the Domino Attachment and Object
Service (DAOS) feature allows attachments to be stored outside the NSF
file in Notes Large Object (NLO) files. This provides two major
benefits in that it: Allows multiple copies of the same attachment to
be stored as a single copy to save storage. Segregates the relatively
static attachment data from the NSF data, allowing flexibility in data
storage and backup processing.

THE NEW IBM LOTUS NOTES 8 OUT OF OFFICE FUNCTIONALITY
The Out of Office functionality is one of the most widely used
features of the IBM Lotus Notes mail template. This functionality has
been completely re-written for IBM Lotus Notes and Domino 8, and in
this article, we examine the changes in this feature, compare the new
feature set to the old one, and discuss why and when you may want to
use the earlier functionality rather than the new one. In current
versions of Lotus Notes (release 7.x and earlier), the Out of Office
functionality is managed by a LotusScript agent native to the Notes
mail template. In Lotus Notes and Domino 8, the enhanced LotusScript
agent still exists in the Notes mail template for backward
compatibility. In addition, the mail router has new functionality
called the Out of Office service that offers the same functionality as
the agent.
