Anyone know how to do this in 3D Studio?

http://sketchypictures.com/tutorials/maya/flying_arrows/flying_arrows.html

Its not the importing, beveling, rendering, etc that I'm looking for.
Just trying to figure out how to get a solid object to follow a 3d
path such as in the example.

3D Studio? are you actually using the old DOS program? or one of the
current versions of 3D Studio Max? In Max you're probably going to do
much the same as what they described.

Sorry, 3D Studio Max, my apologies, I'll redirect this question to the
proper area.

It is in the right area, he just wanted to know what version you're on
to give you the relevant help.

Either way, its fairly basic, look in Max's help files, look for
animating along paths, it will tell you everything you need to know.

Ah, good to know, thank you.

I've work with motion paths before - I'm not sure I'll achieve the
effect I'm looking for. The arrows move in a ribbon-like fashion, I'm
not sure how to duplicate it. Any thoughts?

To be a little more specific, after created my Path Constraint, I'd
like to know the 3ds Max equivalent to Flow Path Object

I've found the most appropriate equivalent - the PathDeform modifier
achieves a very similar effect, though doesn't seem as robust in Max
as Maya's Flow Path Object. Regardless, it is certainly enough to
complete the effect described in my original post.
