Hi all,
I scanned some maps I want to use with Seaclear. Since Seaclear needs PNGs
or BMPs, I saved the pictures as PNG with 256 colours. For scannig I used a
Canon LiDE 90. I used Corel PhotoPaint with the TWAIN interface under XP
SP2. I transferred these piczures to an Netbook with Xandros Linux, where
SeaClear is installed, using the Windows emulator Wine. In Seaclear's
calibration utility the picture looked okay, but when it's converted into
SeaClears own format *.wci, the former png-picture looks nearly totally
black, some light areas rested white. When I scan as win-BMP's everything
works.
I converted the PNGs tom BMPs (with Linux' Gwenview), but the effect was
still the same.
I remember that I once had png's created with windows, which blackeded when
viewing them with Linux. I assume that windos-PNGs are not the same as
Linux-PNGs. Is that right?
Thanks for helping, richard
