I need to convert bmp-files to pcx-files. This should work from the
command line, without messing with a GUI. Then I could use this from a
batch file or a program. Platform is Windows95.

On Linux I have ImageMagick, which comes with some tools, among which
there is 'convert'. That's exactly what I need for Win95.

'convert picture.bmp picture.pcx' does exactly what I want.

Is there something similar for Win95? Freeware would be great... :-)

Have a look at JASC's shareware program "Image Robot" it does what
you want and a lot more.

You can download it from their sales bumf page.
http://www.jasc.com/ir.html

When I looked at this page, on 23 June, it was at an introductory
price of 49 US dollars prior to an eventual price of 249 US dollars,
both plus carriage at 16 US dollars.

For what its worth the above URL's link to a list of JASC's
distributors gives their German one as.
