POOL CONTEST RULES:
1.Contest begins November 15, 1995. Contest will end December 15, 1995
(unless otherwise noted).
2.A new Winner every week. Winners will be announced every Friday
between 10am and 4pm in the Digital Pool Gallery.
3.Anyone is welcome to submit art work (limit of one file per
week/artist).
4.Submit art via an E-Mail attachment.
5.File size for artwork sent via e-mail must be 150k or less
(compressed, jpeg preferred). You may choose to send in a floppy disk
for larger file sizes - floppies will not be returned!
6.For the Contest we accept the following native file formats: Quark
XPresss, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, Adobe Photoshop and
Corel Draw.
7.Please include all appropriate file information, including fonts used.
8.Winning art work must be available in a file format which will
reproduce well in large format prints. That means any bitmap files must
be large enough to maintain good resolution at a large size. See Iris
and Cactus Tech notes for hints on final artwork requirements.
9.It is the contestant's responsibility to send us the winning file by
Syquest, Zip Drive or Bernoulli Drive disk. (All disks, except floppies,
will be returned).
10.Please include your phone number. You will be notified of winning by
E-Mail and phone and you will see your image (lo-res, submission
version) in our Winners' Gallery on Friday.
11.A short bio of the artist and the equipment used to create the
winning poster will be included in the Digital Pool Gallery. We
recommend that the contestant submit this information along with the
artwork.
12.Winners will receive the following:
Gold - Free Iris Print 30"x40", Encapsulated; Value = $242
Silver - Free Cactus Print 30"x40" Encapsulated; Value = $141
Bronze - Free Poster Page in the DP Poster Gallery for 1 month. Promote
your work!
13.Judged by the Digital Pool staff and occasional pool guests.
14.Our primary purpose in this contest is to have some online fun, give
exposure to some of the many terrific digital artist we work with, to
discover new artists, and to find a few good sample posters - to show
off our Iris and Cactus print capabilities. The artist will always be
given credit.
