Is there a Turner plug-in?
Barry Pearson
paintings have been "The Fighting Temeraire...", "Peace: Burial at sea", "Rain,
steam and speed", etc.
Whenever I photograph a sunset or strange light on a landscape, I have Turner in
my mind. (Apart from anything else, it gives me an excuse to have a photograph
which looks good but is technical crap. Some of Turner's paintings are technical
crap).
I've just watched the BBC programme on Turner. It didn't change my views. I want
to produce photographs that look like Turners.
Is there a plug-in which will turn one of my mediocre photographs into something
that will resemble a Turner?

Can you post a link to an example of a "Turner"? Maybe we could get
a better idea what you mean.

(I was just having a little joke after watching a programme about my favourite
painter, and wondered what the reaction might be. The "ps" says it all - if I
could do it with a plug-in, there would be no point. Besides, it isn't the brush
strokes I'm interested in, it is the vision of light & colour in a way that
makes the technical details irrelevant).

But please treat my request as a joke - following up all those other requests

Too bad one can't use Image Composer's Impressionist filter as a
Photoshop 6 filter.
That might have yielded interesting results had I been able to overcome
the perplexing
decisions Turner faced before painting each watercolor:
1. Peaches or cream wash for this image?
2. Blur left half of image or right half of image?
3. Confuse only 60% of my viewers or all of my viewers?
I do admire Turner's "Norham Castle, Sunrise" painting. It looks exactly
like my
frat house walls after a helluva party.

No.
You absolutely CAN use it with PS 6, just raid it out of IC and install it
in your Plugins folder. Make sure you install the sub-folders within the
Impressionist folder in the exact layout they were in IC. You'll have lots
of brushes, papers and presets to play with!

very well.

You're welcome. Try the Pencil Sketch, Detailed Monochrome setting. I love
it.
