I'm tired of doing all the artwork for my company only to have
them give me just a small portion of their art cost. I want to branch
out on my own but have no idea about the best way to do it. How much
should I charge per hour? What is the best way to find freelance work?
About myself: Have a BFA degree in Graphic Design and have been a
Graphic artist/designer for 7 years. I live in the Los Angeles area.

Thanks for all advice and have a nice day.

You might get some additional and possibly better answers by asking this
same question in alt.graphics.illustrator and alt.design.graphics groups.
Most professional freelance (or FEElance) people make much more use of the
tools described there as opposed to Photohop.

Here are some helpful resources:

1. Business and Legal Forms for Graphic Designers by Tad Crawford and
Eva Doman

http://www.allworth.com/Catalog/GD004.htm

2. From AIGA Chicago...

3. Barbara Ganim's book, The Designer's Commonsense Business Book. Out
of print, per Amazon.com, but available through Abe, the best used
book site on the planet:

http://www.abe.com/

4. A read through the Graphic Artists' Guild Handbook might be helpful
as well. Learn more at:

Hope this is useful...
