Veil painting (watercolor) technique simulation ?

Can anyone offer a PS technique to simulate the effect achieved in
watercolor veil painting ?
Veil Painting uses transparent watercolors.

Paint and let each layer dry (veil) before another veil is applied - the
same or different color.

I tried playing with the Opacity of each layer (I assume that's what you
meant ?), it's kinda similar but not really. The colors change in a very
different way. I tried a few dfferent Blending Modes, but.....??
