Any suggestions?
What should I expect to pay?
Is eBay reliable if I use PayPal?
Thank you..........
I used froogle to find these: http://www.google.com/products?q=photoshop+cs4&aq=f

There are some ways to get legit copies at lower prices. There are
Student and Educational versions, as opposed to the commercial
version, provided you qualify. However, there are, to me, confusing
sets of rules as to how the different licenses can be uses (for
commercial purposes or not) and what the available upgrade paths are.
Sometimes if you take a course in PS there is an offer to purchase the
software at a reduced price. I know someone who did this a few years
ago. He got the full commercial version at a discount after paying for
the course.
Sometimes there are discount offers along with hardware purchases,
such as a Wacom tablet.
After you've taken a look through some of your options, why don't you
post back with the best options you've found? I'm sure there are a few
others reading this group mulling the idea of purchasing the same
product.
You can get CS4 master collection for $95 genuine version.
Joe, from who? Something tells me $95 isn't quite enough for a genuine
copy. You didn't include a link or anything..
If it sounds too good to be true....
I agree. Something is just wrong with $95 for the real thing.
The educational discount still seems the best deal.
I don't know why I have to provide a link, I know its there, the site
its on, is password protected. so you will not be able to access the
site anyway.
I just provided the lowest price for which to aim.
I can post what it states as I have saved the page somewhere. If I can
find the pages!!just changed to W7 all the data is now on a backup HDD.
On the site also available windows XP and Office 2007 both these are
$34 each.
Adobe stuff $95 includes $11 postage and you get master collection,
premiere elements, contribute, acrobat, photoshop elements, lightroom
eleven dvd's in all - mac or pc
These are all Genuine Adobe software, all serials are provided with the
DVD's and its activated with Adobe. I have it on my computer and it adds
lines to the hosts file, part of the activation line, if you know where
to find that, reads
127.0.0.1 localhost
***.*.*.* ********************** #ADDED BY F5 NETWORKS SSL
TUNNEL - ORIGINAL RECORD#
I don't know what your copy says.
I have the Master Collection on my PC and the above is part extract of
that line/s
I don't intend to disclose any more than that. You can call it BS if you
like but just to stress that it is GENUINE Adobe Software, registered
with Adobe. Take it or leave it I don't care.
j
Don't be too skeptical it is true. But I doubt that it will be available
at that pricing to you. Quite a few are eligible tho.
Thinking the Master Collection comes on 5 DVD's includes the Content DVD.
j
It's a criminal enterprise - I'd avoid it like the plague if only to
protect your credit card number.

No all above board.
You don't know what your talking about and unaware of what is available.
One thing for sure you are not eligible to buy at thos price.
Mmmm - yeah. Adobe, evidently, is not aware either. Check this out:

> One thing for sure you are not eligible to buy at thos price.
If eligibility is being foolish enough to pay crooks with a credit card,
then yes, I'm not eligible.
I think you missed the point of the OP's question:
"What should I expect to pay?"

JD..
I am a student and paid 700.00 to upgrade to CS4 master collection . I
bought directly from the Adobe education store (which requires proof
of student status) Since the cost of the master collection is $2500.00
(and BTW the programs listed are not the programs on the master
collection) this is obviosly a scam and not worth your worry or even
the space it takes. You get what you pay for, and I've paid for all my
legit programs times over with the knowledge gained and work I can
legally produce. ( you can get even cheaper student versions for
academic work only called student editions ) Legit is the way to go,
and I have nothing but praise for Adobe. I'll pinch pennies somewhere
else and eat noodles before I'd promote pirated software...it's WRONG
and also pretty ROTTEN to contimplate biting the hand that feeds
you...We should not even justify threads such as this with serious
response.
check out adobe.com It is the only way to go...and I love that REAL
PEOPLE answer the phone...
cheers

So, who is eligible?
That line will read
127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
It just stops CS4 checking that the program activation is genuine.
Obviously you have not read what was included in the package. So don't
make these assumptions..

Total BS from a nobody claiming nothing from nowhere.

NO - its not there. I'm aware of that line,
I do not want to post it in full on the web but I did give you the note
in that line.
Nonsense. Utter bull.

Your email good???? or send me one, to mesamine@gmail. More will be
revealed but not on this NG.
BTW its not a scam its not piracy its just an organised deal with Adobe
who can release and sell it at that price. I don't have to read your URL
its not relevant in this situation.
You of all people should not be making false accusations.
End of story then Eh!

It's a corporate licensed copy. Illegal outside the org.

You have a history of being involved in pirating volume licensed
software which can be tricked with a routing hack.
What's more stunning is your completely criminal mentality.
> You of all people should not be making false accusations.
They are selling stolen goods. Take my word for it, as someone who not
only has friends who work at Adobe, but who also has his software for sale
at these sites.
Anyone paying less than 10 percent of the retail price for software that
requires jimmying up your hosts file to escape detection deserves to lose
their money, and whatever else happens to them.
Your repetitiousness makes further replies fruitless.
I said if your email is good Ill forward the information and you can
take it up with Adobe. Or are you big mouthing yourself.
Further than that you have no credibility.
Thats slander.
You are close to the volume bit, it dosen't have a volume licence each
program is supplied with its own serial which is registered with Adobe.
Ill send you details off the NG if you email is good.
This must be some special deal, so special that you can't even link
the newsgroup to it. Just fyi... you're not fooling any of the adults
here.
eBay is usually a good guide to what the market says. If you look for
CS4 there, you will find roughly two price levels. The more reputable,
believable sellers get somewhere around $300 for a full version of PS
CS4, while the more dodgy sellers seem to get about $150.
I have also seen a website selling CS4 for $95. It looked like a real
website, and had a picture of an office building in Texas, but it used
poor English & was registered in Turkey, or somewhere in that part of
the world. A google search for their website name showed that it was a
scam site dedicated to obtaining your credit card numbers.
Be careful out there!
Ian
I have found that adobes own site has a fairly good prices the
download option does not lower the price as much as i would like
but i bought my copy of photoshop from a store and recieved the box
that contains 2 dvds and nothing else, no manual that i was hoping
for, i payed 9550 swedish kronor for it, roughly $1320 adobe shop
online would have been a bit cheaper, but this is a pricey software.
If you need some books the "missing manual photoshop cs4" is an 800+
page book with color pictures that seem very good so far, not expensive
either from amazon in the us.

I've bought directly from Adobe, also hoping for a manual. The last manual
I received was, I believe, for CS, and the illustrations were in black and
white. The picture of the RGB primaries mixing to give different color
combinations is especially humorous looking.
OTOH, the online manual, and other tutorial material on the DVD, are
excellent.
