Joe,

I love "The Winter Star", but I think that my favorite is still "The
Old Truck". What technique to you use to get that 'smudgy' look?'

Great work!

Joe,

I used to until I meet computer graphics about 5 years ago. Much cleaner and
cheaper in the long run. g

I worked mostly with acrylics and water colors. Always hated oil painting
don't have the patients for it since it takes months to do some things.

Joe,

Hey, thanks, Now I know what the little 'white hand' is. I
practiced with it, and is is almost as much fun as the Clone Tool!

So, did you actually draw the Old Truck, or take a photograph and
'smudge' it??

everyone can do that :-)

I used to do acrylics mostly. I was never any good at watercolors. A little
airbrushing too. Oil also takes forever to dry, not to mention clean up is a
pain. Gotta love that undo button ;-)

I don't know of a tutorial on drawing freehand. I would suggest any number
of art books out there on drawing and painting. The pad is the secret here
to me it is as natural as a pen or pencil. There are several good methods of
painting out there from digioil methods to pointillism (spelling?). My email
isn't spam blocked and I'm always willing to help if I can but please let me
know before sending anything with an attachment as those will be turned back
due to blocking setups.
