The first PSP 7 tutorials on my site. The first is a tutorial on
converting photos into watercolor paintings. (yeah, I know PSP 7 has a
filter for that, but I don't think it does as good a job *S*) The second
is a tut on giving photos an Impressionistic look. Stop by my site and
have a look around. Many more tutorials coming soon.

An unsuspected use for the Edge Preserving Smoothing filter.
I'm impressed. (I just knew it had to be useful for something :)

Yeah, you're right. I tried your watercolour tutorial on 3 pictures. The
first one was a lunar moth that I scanned in from an old issue of Canadian
Geographic. Turned out well. My second try was on a picture of flowers from
a friend's web site--too many JPG artifacts to make a good picture, you
really have to watch what you use. A high-res JPG is a good choice if you're
using public domain clip art.

My third try was on a photograph I took myself of some bright pink lilies in
my garden. Got to the end and I just felt it didn't have any oomph, so I did
some extra things on the final layer with the texture. Ended up with no
colour fill, but I used the 2D Hyper Clouds filter on the layer (since I
mentioned it in a previous post), and then applied Curly Qs, Coloured Edges,
and Coloured Foil with the Neon Glow default setting. "Oh," you say, "it
must have looked like a piece of overfiltered junk." Not so, it looked like
a beautiful watercolour with subtle lights, gradations and blurring that you
can only get from floating paint and water on paper.

Thanks for the insight.

Judith
