how do you make a graphic look like an oil painting. I read it
somewhere but didn't try it out, then forgot the source! Dumb!

I don't have a tutorial on Oil Painting but do have some paintings in my
gallery. I can't teach what I do, but did start by using the digioil methods
of Al Dawson http://digitoils.com/howdo.html and built from that basic
knowledge to what I do now.

There are also several filters out there that will give a photograph an oil
painted look though I personally don't care for any of them. None look very
real to me You can look at http://perso.club-internet.fr/gpl/index.html for
a filter that might give the effects you want.

Al Dawson's digitoil tutorials are pretty neat. He does use an older version
though, but the techniques work the same. Here is the url direct to the
download of the tut files.

Happy painting!

Take care
Linda.

If you have PSP 5/6 you just need to convert the number system for the tools
and improvise with the brush settings. Not to hard to figure out what
effects what once you start with them.

Ah, memory skipped a track. Oh well, at least I remembered the
digioils on your site.

I must agree about the filters. In fact the only program I've ever
seen that does a decent job is Painter, and it is a strange one to
master.

I have Painter and still prefer to paint with PSP tools though I do all my
sketches in Painter first.

I was referring to the Digioil tutorials that where originally written to
use PSP 3/4. With 5 on the settings change to a % system instead of -255 to
255 system.
