Ok...it's very quiet here all of a sudden. Are people actually "working" now
or what's the deal?

If they're like me, they went out camping to watch the AWESOME meteor shower last
night.
And let me tell you, it WAS awesome!
Especially the one that came in at around 5:15am!
(and the news said it was basically be done by 3am,,, Ha!)
That was a killer green one moving very slowly across the sky and dropping off
orange particles like a sparkler.
(it almost looked like something from a movie or something)
It almost didn't seem real, except, that it WAS! real! and it went clean across
the whole sky and kept getting closer and closer to the ground. We were expecting
it to crash,,,, but of course cool things like that rarely ever happen, but it
sure was an awesome site!
Anyway, it sure lit up the sky!
And we saw a lot of others break up and or explode and light up the whole place
too!

No such thing for poor people.
We were using still shot time exposure 35mm film cameras.
This also meant that you just had to "guess" where a meteor "might" show up in the sky.
Because you click on the camera shutter and it sits there open till you click it off to
get your time exposure, and this means you don't get a choice of "wher" to shoot at.
You just "hope" that one will fly through the area where you're pointing the camera at.
But, we "did" get at least a few/several good shots during the night.
The big awesome green one came right after we went to bed and were just staring up at the
night sky from our sleeping bags.

anyway, I will post some images up when they are developed.

killer green one dropping off orange particles as it went along?

sure you weren't just playing with LW7 late into the night and too tired to
notice the difference between CG and the real world anymore? ;-)

ha ha ha ha ha ,,,,,,, that was great!
But, actually, one of the points of the trip was to get away from my computer,
but alass, me and my brother (who is also a 3D animator) spent half the time
comparing practically everything we saw/seen to 3D stuff.
We'd look at the clouds and make comments about how they were made using some
sort of real time fractal generators. And real time fog generators.

And when we would see a meteor we'd be making comments about how they just used
a perticle emmitter and the awesome one that was all green with orange sparks,
was in reality, just a sparkler on a string coming down from the sky to the
ground.

What do you mean "finally!"?
I invented the club!
Sheesh, I was doing that sort of thing back when I first was using Silver, and
for that matter, what was that even older app, Sculpt 3D?
And my brother's been doing it since he got his first Strata 3D.
Sheesh, I can remember way back when, when I used to use DPaint II and I was on
a camping trip with my friend and we were staring at the fire in the fire pit,
when I suddenly said to my friend, "hey look, you can see the fire color
cycling". Ever since then, he still teases me about it from time to time. What's
worse, is it must be catching, because now he even notices that sort of thing
and he's not even into that kind of stuff.
