I'm using a new install of LW 9.6 and something is amiss with the Hub.
When I make changes in the model, and then go back to layout the
changes don't show up. It is as though the Hub is not functioning
except to pass control between apps. Does anyone know what
setting I accidentally fumbled?

Can't answer that question as I don't use Lightwave at work any more
and just use 6.5 at home for small projects but am amazed that the Hub
is still causing issues. I turn the bloody thing off. I can see where
they were coming from, but I prefer to make my changes in Modeller and
when I am happy with those changes I'll bring it into Layout. I still
think it is a case of programmers trying to be too clever for their
own good. I like the idea of the separate apps and would prefer them
to stay disconnected. YMMV.

I can't remember having an issue with the Hub, but that
might be age related. I've been using Lightwave from the very
beginning on the Amiga. I don't claim to be an expert though.

Yeah - I started out on the Amiga as well. I just didn't see the point
of it and when this group was very active there were a lot of
complaints about the Hub. I found it erratic when I did use it so just
disabled it. I would have thought it would have been sorted by now
though.

The hub is much more stable in 9.6... have you tried a fresh install and
have you tried deleting your configs?

I don't know how to get past the security on my router, this makes the
Hub not function.

It's not an inconvenience to use Lightwave without the hub running,
basically the Hub never worked for me so I don't miss what I never had.

Yes, I think I had saved both the model, and the layout.

Interestingly enough it is working fine again.
Somehow, it must have been confused.
I'm not sure how or why.
It has usually worked fine for me.

Thanks for all of the thoughts.

David
