Doing color to alpha and image is now translucent.

Hi,
I have clip art with a white background. I want the background to be see through. So i do gimps Colrs to alpha. All the white color is now translucent, but........ all the colors are see through. How can i get it so the non white colors do not become translucent??????

REPL for Gimp

There is the Emacs mode for Gimp, but is there a REPL as such? Gimp-mode in Emacs (haven't tried it yet) assists in writing script-fu which then gets run via the Gimp menu. So is there a way of issuing commands and scripts to Gimp directly? Am on Ubuntu.

Hello,
I remember a time where Gimp had tear-off menus that worked, and were very useful to repeat some commands on an image:

1. I "installed" the portable version. And then i installed the
documentaion. But Gimp states, there are no local documentaion installed.
2. ok, then i tried to install the normal version. But the installer

invalid .bmp in 2.8.4

I have started using 2.8.4 and am exporting a .bmp file with 32 bit color A8 R8 G8 B8.
I have tried both "Compatibility Option / Do Not Write Color space information" options, Neither works.
Under Visual Studio the error is 'Cannot load file. Unknown bitmap format'.
I think this worked previously but I have to try it.... more »
