I am checking with the Wacom site, but just wanted to see if anyone knew
offhand if Wacom hardware would work in GIMP. I would hate to get one
and find out I cannot use it.

I personally don't want to go back to Photoshop.

I use a Wacom Intuos 3 with SuSE-10.1 and OpenSuSE-10.2.
It works very nice under both systems. The wacom driver
is implemented in the kernel, so just plug it in to get
it detected.

You may want to configure the pad with sax2, which is
straight forward.

Many details and lots of fine documentation can be
found at

http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/

Additionally, you may also like to configure the express
keys of an Intuos 3 pad (buttons and sliders) to your
needs, see

Frank

I had some problems with pressure sensitivity with my Graphire4
tablet. The problem was not restricted to Gimp.

Now, I am running a 2.6.21 kernel and the most recent
linuxwacom drivers 0.7.7-11

With that combination Gimp, inkscape and skencil work
just fine.

Hi,

IntuosII and it works fine including pressure sensitivity. Only the menu's
on top of the board don't work.
