Hi to all,
since aptitude made an update from the old gimp to this new 2.8 it is not usable
anymore.
I'm using a rather old but well working PC, amd cpu, 1Gb ram, debian kernel
2.6.x - until last update to 2.8 gimp was usable fine, after update i cannot use
it, it is incredibly slow on all operation, startup, select, move etc, it is not
a problem of full ram but simply it slows down the entire system.
So question to experts: what to do?
a) back to 2.6 ?
b) there is some adjusting or some preference set that make gimp 2.8 go even
better and faster than the older;
c) switch to another graphic editing tool ('cause with time gimp will be more
heavier and slower)?
Thanks in advance for any hint advice tip.
