Hello,
I remember a time where Gimp had tear-off menus that worked, and were
very useful to repeat some commands on an image:
http://docs.gimp.org/en/menus.html#tear-off-menus
But 3 years ago, this ceased to work...
Am i the only one to miss this feature?
Is there a chance to get it back sometime?
Thanks,
Patrick

For me, tear-off menus work as usual. I am using GIMP 2.8.4 under Mac
OS X 10.8.3, for what is worth. And, yes, this is a very useful
feature.

You are lucky. I used Gimp 2.6 and 2.8 on different flavors of Linux,
and the tear-off menus can't be activated. The bug was filed in 2010...

I am using GIMP 2.6 on Linux Mint 11 and GIMP 2.8.2
on Linux Mint 13 and tear-off menus are just
working fine !
Can you see the dashed line, where the tear-off is
taking place ?

Regards

Kai

Yes, when I click the dashed line, the menu is detached, but then the
items do nothing when clicked.
I have the bug on all variants of Ubuntu since 3 years.
