maya animCurve tangents

hi there :-)

does anybody know how maya calculates the differnent tangents for
animCurves? i get the inTanX / inTanY / outTanX / outTanY values, but
normally for interpolating a hermite-curve you'll just need 1 value.
i hope anybody knows, what i mean and can help.

They are not hermite curves. The tangents and the keyframes make up the
knots of a bezier-spline.

hmm, that's right in one way... if a animCurve is weighet, then it will be
evaluated as a bezierspline, otherwise as a hermite curve :-)
