Including 3 sides, & making it look like a 2 sided coin would even be
more fun....


What programs will fit the bill (Winders/Linux/Mac)?

I have done this exact thing with Xara 3D.

May it was easy with POVray. I give it a try in a few day.
Basicaly you build a cylinder, use the two scans as image
map, and rotate the object along axes.
