****** RAGE , already 6 out of 6 stars *******

Hello,

Ok peeps, I had my doubt about Rage, I doubted the game when I say it on
gaming sites, and I doubted when I played it the first few minutes...

Though the engine immediatly impressed me from the start. The new
"massive/virtual texture loading" is quite impressive ! ;)

I have played the game now for two days or so... The first day I only played
shortly since I also played another game alien infestation for the nintendo
ds the whole day, so I played Rage at the end of the first day.

And today I continued with it, and I played it massively ! ;)

The little texture popping was getting on my tits but I managed to reduce it
a little bit by creating a rageconfig.cfg and this seems to help somewhat.
By now I don't mind the texture popin, I got use to it.. and the game plays
quite nicely.

And get this:

THIS GAME PLAYS EXCELLENT ON A NVIDIA GT 520 GRAPHICS CARD which is the
CHEAPEST DX11 card it only has 12 GB/sec of bandwidth it costed 65 euro's at
the time and this game PLAYS AT 1920x1200 at 30 to 60 FPS or something
pretty much
at all HIGH !!! With some texture popping yes... BUT IT'S INCREDIBLE the
PERFORMANCE OF IT ! SIMPLY INCREDIBLE ! :) =D

So the TECHNOLOGY IS TOP NOTCH... ! So now that that is out of the way, you
might be wondering how is the game ?

Well let me tell you... and keep in mind I am going to build it up just like
the game ! ;)

1. First of all the game has some to lot's of talking in it, usually I don't
like that much in games, especially japanese like crap... but Rage is
fantastic in this department because of many reasons:

Delicious mission graphics, nice/good voice acting, very nice characters and
good graphics and good sound ! and good rewards and good story and it makes
SENSE !

2. Now on with the action.... yes the action is kinda low at the start, but
it starts to build up.. it starts to introduce you to the action...

3. Yes in the beginning it has some kinda lame driving around with cars, but
it gets a bit better as the game goes on and on and on.

And now Ladies and Gentlemen on with the show.

The game gets BETTER AND BETTER AND BETTER AND BETTER AND BETTER AND BETTER
AND BETTER AND BETTTTTTTTERR ! As it goes ALONG !

It's like a ROLLER COASTER RIDE... It starts to climb up, goes a bit down,
goes a bit up, goes a bit down again, goes somewhat more up, takes a big
splash down, goes way up again, and then goes massively down and THE GOES UP
AGAIN AND THEN WOEEESH

WOEEESSH WOEEEESH I TAKES ON ONE HELL OF RIDE OF ACTION... IT S FRICKING
UNBELIEVABLE !! and the GRAPHICS IS I RIGHT UP THERE.... AND THE BLOOD AND
GORE IS JUST STARTING AT probably 50% to 60% of the game WHEN THE ROCKET
LAUNCHER STARTS
TO COME INTO PLAY BECAUSE OF NECCESSITY and the POPROCKET-BULLITS for PISTOL
or something... AND MAJOR AMMOUNTS OF BANDITS/TROLLS like mean aggressive
lord of the rigs "my precise bitches" and other folks, they come in groups
and YOU BLOW THEM UP AND SPLLATTTERR BLOOODDD... Some nice "ghost" folks
they are called, has nothing to do with ghost, though perhaps electricity...
I won't spoilt it for ya... that was earlier in the game and that was pretty
cool as well...

I am now in the SUBWAY CITY !

I TELL YOU ONE THING RIGHT NOW:

THIS GAME IS FUCKING AWESOME IS FUCKING AWESOME IS FUCKING AWESOME IT'S
FUCKING AWESOME... IT'S SO FRICKING AWESOME... IT S FUCKING UNBELIEVABLE !!!
AND I AM NOT EVEN DONE WITH THE GAME YET !! HOLYSHIT !!!

THE GRAPHICS ARE FUCKING AWESOME, THE SPECIAL EFFECTS, THE SMOKE, THE BLOOD,
THE DEATHS, THE BULLIT IMPACTS, THE VOICE ACTING, THE SCREAMING, THE ACTION,
THE SOMEWHAT SCI-FI, THE ACOPYLOPTIC NATURE OF IT, IT'S ALL FUCKING AWESOME

AND IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER, AND THE ATMOSPHERE, THE ATMOSPHERIC MUSIC
IS FUCKING INSANELY AWESOME AND GOOD BEYOND WHAT I EXPECTED IT TO BE ! IT S
FUCKING AWESOME.

FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO SOUNDTRACK AVAILABLE ON THE PIRATEBAY BECAUSE THAT
WOULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR SPOILER. (I listened to deadspace soundtrack but
never played the game and never while because dead space is probably boring
and third person crap).

BUT HOLYSHIT IS RAGE FRICKING FUCKING GOOD. THE MUSIC/SOUNDTRACKS ARE
FUCKING AMAZING AND TOTALLY FUCKING PERFECT FOR THIS GAME !!!!

THIS IS THE BIGGEST PERFECTION I HAVE SEEN UP TO THIS DATE.

MY ADVICE IS SIMPLE: DO NOT WATCH ANY YOUTUBE VIDEOS OF RAGE, DO NOT LISTEN
TO ANY SOUNDTRACKS, BUT SIMPLY DIVE STRAIGHT INTO RAGE without having seen
anything, NO SPOILERS !

BECAUSE I ASSURE YOU THIS GAME IS WORTH IT !

This game has a little bit of EVERYTHING: it has voice acting, it has a good
story, it has weapon adjustments, it has collectables, IT HAS THE MOST
AWESOME FRICKING CARD GAME EVVVERRR SEEN IN A FIRST PERSON SHOOTER... I am
not much of a card player, BUT I LOVE THE CARD GAME IN THIS GAME IT'S SO
FUCKING SIMPLE TO UNDERSTAND YET SO FUCKING COOL WITH A LITTLE BIT OF DEPTH
IT'S FUCKING AWWWWEEESOOOMMMEEE... I DEFINETLY LOOK FORWARD TO COLLECTING
MORE CARDS ! Everytime I find/collect a COLLECTABLE CARD I AM HAPPY ! it's
just that little bit EXTRA that makes THIS GAME GODDDDLIKE ! IT has a little
bit of car driving and action, and it can even be a lot if you like that
kind of thing. You can expand your weapons on your cars... it has multiple
carssss....

It has many different people and characters in it... and they are all
interesting to listen to and talk too... you don't have to but they are
there if you wanna have a chat or know what they are thinking.

AND IT'S TOTALLY INTERACTIVE WITH THE GAME/MISSIONS... they adept to IT !
IT'S PRETTY MIND BLOWING TERRIFIC !

There are MAIN missions ! And there are also some SUB missions for extra
weapons or cash or modications or items or whatever ! There are so many
possibles for weapon combinations and car combinations/weapons I haven't
even had time to try it all and look at it all... if you've just been
playing single player non-stop... because it's so fricking good, exciting,
interesting AND VERY INTRIGUING ! I most know how the story GOES ON ! I most
now what happens to earth and the people after the acolypictic situation...
what's going on ?! YEAH ! Whats going on with the mutans...a nd what's going
on with the people will they survive ?! And what "the authorithy" up to ?!?
What will happen to me ?! ;) :) Even the start of the game was awesome,
immediate nicely little computer voice, and maybe there was even a
visualization like my udp file transfer tool ! LOL which I appreciated ! ;)
Maybe it was a link/hint/ode/reference or so ;) I don't know but that blew
my mind ! ;)

(I haven't played multiplayer yet, maybe that's fun too)

Be warned though, this is not your typical Run-And-Gun-Id-Software-Shooter
there is also plenty of story and interaction... BUT TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THE
ACTION IS THERE AND VERY WELL PRESENT !!!

And it's definetly worth sticking to the story/going through to get to the
ACTION PARTS ! and it perhaps gives you some time to relax doing the story
part !!!!!!!

AND NOW WHY I AM SO EXCITED:

The first mission you do when you REACH the SUBWAY CITY ! IS GODDAMN FUCKING
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEESSSSSSSSSSSOMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!

IT'S LIKE LEFT 4 DEAD TO THE POWER OF 50, GRAPHICS ARE AWESOME. IT LOOKS SO
FUCKING NICE... EVERYTHING BLENDS REALLY NICELY TOGETHER...

The environment, the monsters, the smoke, the explosions, the blood, the
deaths, EVERYTHING it looks as ONE MASTER PIECE PAINTING ! and the running
and the climing and swining (little spoiler there but ok) OF THE MUTANS IS
PRETTY DAMN AWESOME, NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE...

The clubbing is also pretty good ! The manage to club me down now and then
and I HAVE 20+ years of SHOOTER-EXPERIENCE so that says SOMETHING.... I
LOVE IT if a shooter is so good that the AI can actually give me a run for
my money ! ;) =D (And I play at NORMAL skill level JUMMY ! =D) IF YOU LIKE
GOOD AI YOU GONNA LOVE RAGE.

THIS GAME IS BETTER THAN WOLFENSTEIN, DOOM, QUAKE 1, QUAKE2, QUAKE3, QUAKE4,
DOOM3, RETURN TO CASTLEWOLFSTEN, WOLFENSTEIN almost COMBINED ! OH YEAH !

Don't worry this game isn't ugly and dark like Doom3, this game isn't as
boring as the others... THIS IS A MASTER PIECE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MAAASSSSSTTTTTTTEEEERRRRRRRRRPIIIIIIEEEEEEEEECCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!

This might as well be the BEST SHOOTER up to this MOMENT.

And therefore I will give it a 6 out of 6.

When I compare this game to for example Battlefield 3 (BETA), which is buggy
poop at the moment and slow as hell (because of bad engine and lot's of
geometry)... THEN THIS GAME RAGE:

Yes, and I am not just saying that because BF3 is a piece crap or slow or
because my system is slow... NOOOO it has nothing to do with BF3, BF3 is
boring it's like BF2 in a new jacket.

RAGE IS NEW AND FRESH. RAGE IS MIND BLOWING ! OH YEAH !

AND IT'S JUST VERY GOOOD, ITS HIGH QUALITY ! EVERYTHING HAS HIGH QUALITY,
THE MENUS FOR EXAMPLE ARE HIGH QUALITY, EVERTHING IS HIGH QUALITY.

THIS GAME IS VERY WELL POLISHED WHEN LOOKING AT THE MASSIVENESS OF IT !!!

SO MUCH STUFF ! YES IT'S 18 GB's COMPRESSED IN ISO'S/DVD'S ! ;)

Some parts of the game might be a little bit less well textured, but most of
it is still pretty damn good !

And so I can only give the following ADVICE to people looking to buy
shooters:

1. DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON BATTLEFIELD 3.

2. INSTEAD BUY RRRRRRRRRAAAAGGGGEEEEEEEE if you are LOOKING FOR AN MIND
BLOWING EXCELLENT FIRST PERSON SHOOTER SINGLE PLAYER EXPERIENCE ! :) =D YEAH
! =D

Also do play it:

I am not yet sure how they multiplayer is... but I will try to find out the
coming days... it would be unbelievable if the multiplayer was good too. I
cannot imagine that it's good too... because the single player is already so
much awesomeness...

If the multiplayer is good too I am gonna give it an extra star. Then it
would go to 7 out of 7.

Last time I gave Quake 4 a 5 out of 5 star rating... But this game is so
uber it must go beyond that Therefore a 6 out of 6 star RATING !!!! VERY
WELL DESERVED !

Finally:

I had my doubts about ID Software and John Carmack, and all of this/their
team, and also Bethesda... because it's been so long ! LOL.

It's been so long since a game of theirs came out... And doom 3 was a bit
dark, and wolfenstein was ok... but this game BLOWS the competition AWAY !
;) =D

This game also has BRAND NEW TECHNOLOGY ! Never seen a shooter like this
before ! ;) =D

And therefore I can only come the single and only possible conclusion and
that is that:

ID SOFTWARE an JOHN CARMACK have RE-ESTABLISHED THEMSELFES AS MARKET LEADER
AND NUMBER 1 FIRST PERSON SHOOTER MANUFACTURER/PRODUCER/GAME MAKKKERRR ! ;)

I have absolutely no idea how these guys pull it off every time... but they
do:

1. The re-invent the genre and truely introduce new technology.

2. Deliver a HUGE ammount of content in the form of GRAPHICS,ART, MUSIC,
SOUNDS, VOICES ETC !

It's blittering FANTASTIC !

I SIMPLY HAD TO STOP PLAYING BECAUSE I GOT TO EXCITED, I STARTED THINKING TO

It's been a long time, since I had this much fun with ANY GAME to be
honest.... (though company of heroes(strategy/tactical game) is nice too <-
interesting)

But RAGE IS JUST A HELL LOT OF FUN oh YEAH !

CLAP CLAP, SMALL APPLAUSE THERE FOR RAGE ! AND IT'S AMAZING !

If you love seeing new stuff, then RAGE is the game for you ! ;) =D

Yup, there are some nice weapons in there. I won't spoil it for you.

You might be wondering, is there nothing the game does badly ?

Well maybe one little thingy:

1. The weapon reloading could be better, sometimes weapons are put back
unloaded, but that's probably my fault.
2. The weapon switching and reloading is a bit slow. But that's kinda nice,
you ll have to do a tactical pull back now and then ;)
3. Throwing granades is a bit weird because of the more complex weapon
system, you must use f1 to f4 and "bind/select" weapons to them from
tab-menu and such.

So the weapon switching is a bit complex, and during hectic times that's a
bit weird... for example must people are used to "G" being: "cook nade or
throw nade" but in this game you'll have to use Q... by default.

But that's probably tuneable. Personally it always annoys me a little bit
when shooters use different numbers/key for weapons and such... But RAGE
ain't to bad... it's more or less the same as previous game with a few
exceptions here and there for the nade I guess ;)

But that's life... some are used to Call of Duty, some are used to
Battlefield, some are used to Quake and Doom, I kinda used to all ! LOL. And
now Rage has it's own somewhat deviating system, but I guess it will grow on
people ! ;) There is more fun to be had with that...

It also has different kind of ammunitions, but how to switch between them
during fat-action I don't completely know yet... it doesn't seem completely
intuitive... and when you do press TAB to go to the special weapons menu,
the game pauzes, so that does take away
a bit from the action, and especially the music stops, which I think is
kinda of a shame... at least the music could have played on to stay in that
action feeling, but ok ! ;) and sometimes you don't know if you need to
press tab, or escape or click exit to exit from it.
and also it could automatically select "resume" so I don't have to click
it... and it could also have had "cursor/arrow keys" movement through the
menues that would have been real nice, but I think it's missing, so menus
must be operated with the mouse.
But the menus are very simple so it's not a problem.

Hnnnnnnnmmm.. :) I am now more or less nitpicking, but these are indeed
small, tiny tiny tiny tiny little little issues, which most people might not
even notice or think about... it's still pretty high quality, much much much
much much better then for example the shitty menus of battlefield 3 which
are just poop. So RAGE vs Battlefield 3, RAGE menu's are diamonds, and
Battlefield 3 beta menu's isn't even poop<-it's ant/insect/diarheas-shit..
;) :)

I cannot end thois posting with a bad word like shit, because that might
confuse people who just read the last line. So let me be perfectly clear:

RAGE IS AGAIN LIKE WOLFENSTEIN BUT BETTER: A DIAMOND, A CRYSTAL, A PIECE OF
ART, A MASTER PIECE ! ;) =D

There... now I can feel rest-assured that I can go to bed and FEEL GOOD
about myself ! LOLOLOLOLOL.

Because CREDIT GO to those who deserve CREDIT, complement GO to those WHO
DESERVE COMPLEMENTS.

And the producers/game makers of RAGE have WORKED VERY HARD at making this
a great game ! That shows and is for SURE ! ;) =D

Everybody playing DEAD ISLAND should immediatly DELETE THAT CRAP... and
start PLAYING RAGE... there is plenty of hand-to-hand combat opertunity in
RAGE if you like that kind of thing ! and if you don't like that kind of
thing and preserve to just shoot zombies and mutants then MY GOD... please
do yourself a big favor and SWITCH TO RAGE !!!

YOU WILL AND CAN THANK ME LATERRR !!!! Please don't waste your time on a
shit game like Dead Island.... even RAGE HAS PLENTY OF BABES FOR YOU TO
DRUEL AT !!! and at least they wearing some nice and cool clothes and not
bikini's all the time ! ;)

Even people who like playing games like "Dungeons and Dragons" with
"collectable CARDS" should DEFINETLY check out RAGE ! It might not be as
complex as D&D but you'll appreciate it I THINK YEAH ! ;) =D

Now you can combine your LOVE for: "SHOOTERS" with "CARDS" ! ;) =D

^^^ WHAT A BRILLIANT IDEA, IT'S FRICKING BRILLIANT ^^^

Secretly I hope I can play with those CARDS online against other people with
CARDS ! ;) =D

But I fear such a multiplayer feature is not in the game ?!?????

If not... then I hope they will still add it ! ;)

Maybe I would even be interesting in collecting those cards in real life and
playing some real matches against real people ! Yes I am willing to become a
small-little-card-nerd just for those nice cards, just for a few days to see
if it like it and too experience... even if it were just for a few days or a
few minuts or few hours... I would probably like that ! ;) :) Yup, this game
has opened a new dimension for shooter players going into "card-games" ! ;)

Ok people, I definetly look forward to playing some more card games inside
RAGE ! It's like a game in a game, a card game in a shooter game ! ;) =D

already long enough, but rightfully so, I would say, a game of 18 GB's of
this caliber sometime triggers it and needs it and believes it and needs it

Ok,

I just finished RAGE (the single player campaign), the mission were I
stopped yesterday was probably the height/best/climax of the game ! ;) from
there it went a bit down hill, but still very enjoyable.

The rest was kinda cool too, but less hectic. The ending was also kinda
anti-climax, no big boss <- spoiler ;) :)

However I have a feeling we will be seeing RAGE 2 sometime in the future !
;) :) =D

Only thing left to do for me is try multiplayer or so ;)

Oh I forgot, I didn't play all sub missions, I didn't play plenty of them,
so there is more fun to be had.

I also wasn't in the sewers yet, I suspect some of those sub missions could

Ok,

I just played a bit of solo multiplayer, which means I played all alone
against the bandits ! ;)

The first map is kinda interesting and the rest is more or less the same as
the rest of the game, except more difficult and just straight up your ass,
no driving, just running and gunning ! ;) :)

Now that the initial kick has gone by and some days have gone by my thoughts
on the game are as follows, first the most important feedback:

1. I wish there was a way to cycle forward and backward through the special
things like bomb cars, nades, bandages, wing sticks, the F1 to F4 is not
really working for me... because the weapons are always on a different
key... it depends on how you pick up stuff, so this is highly confusing and
takes too much time to get it right.
Better could be to just use the entire range from F1 to F12 ;)

2. I also wish there was just one key to cycle between ammo's that would be
enough, currently there are two keys which can do that... however double
pressing for example 2 also switches ammo, this is a bit strange and
confusing.

3. I would recommend reload to be bound to the middle mouse button. But I
guess that's a personel thing ;)

4. I would also recommend pistol on 1, shotgun on 2, riffle on 3. pistol for
close/weak combat, shotgun for near emergencies, and riffle to run and
gun... 1,2,3 seems a bit more logical, oh well... now I also got used to 4
for shotgun a little bit, but I am gonna stick with 1,2,3 or so... also
gaps between 4,5,6 kinda annoying if they not used and such... hmm...

The weapons themselfes could have been a bit better, faster loading, more
ammo, all weapons seem to have some low ammo, that's a bit frustrating and
takes away from the action... little bit more ammo for some guns would have
been nice.

5. I am also kinda confused/frustrated with the pop rockets, when enemies
behind cover, they don't explode as much... that kinda sux and feels like
wasting ammo.

Solo/multiplayer mode offers some replay value...

6. It also kinda annoys me when special key Q first throws nades, and then
suddenly switches to bomb cars ?!?! that's a bit strange... Maybe better to
keep nade on G key... to prevent sudden switch of functionality... I just
wanna throw nades until they run out... I don't wanna auto-switch to bomb
cars :(

I think the bomb cars are a bit stupid they usually die, they add little to
the game, if must be then remove them ;) but for now they can stay ;) <- a
bit silly those cars ;) :)

Well all-in-all not to bad...

But when I started playing rage I was kinda hoping to finally get a mix of
all enemies in major hordes... unfortunately the game doesn't have that... I
guess the graphics cards can't handle it or so... otherwise that could have
been cool... or maybe a bit too whacky but still ;) There are some mixes
here and there so not to bad ! ;) :)

I also played a little bit of BF3... if I had to choose between BF3 AI or
Rage AI I'll take Rage AI 100x times over BF3AI, since BF3AI is pretty dumb
it seems, though I played little yet.

I did very much enjoy the fly level in BF3 though ! ;) :) and graphics of
BF3 are also not to bad ! ;) =D but a bit slowish...

I do believe Rage should have had some more weapons in general... and also
