A friend has sought my help to set books in modern Chinese (left to right)
with Quark for Windows. Can we use Adobe's Kanji fonts? Or are there more
suitable typeface collections? What utilities and/or Xtensions are
available to help manage the huge character sets?

Any advice or comments appreciated. Please respond either here or to
fah...@voyagerco.com.

Thanks.

People who know the (not-so-simple) answer are entitled to many thousands
of dollars worth of consulting fees, unless they're silly enough to let
you pick their brains for what they've learned at great cost in time and
money.

Best solutions: (1) invest a lot of time and money and trial-and-error;
(2) send the work to a book typesetter in Hong Kong.

Unlike English, Chinese isn't something you just rattle off on any old
computer with any old software you'd like to use. BTW, the Adobe Kanji
fonts are JAPANESE, not CHINESE.
