Subject: Classic MS-DOS textmode font as TTF?
Hi,

for a (private) Java-Project I need a True-Type-Font similar to the
classic ms-dos-fullscreen-text-mode-font.

Do you know of a TTF conatining _all_ the special characters shown at
http://www.640k.de/ascii.gif?

I've really been looking hard but I could not find a similar
TrueType-Font. "Terminal" included in windows would be OK although it
does not contain all the characters. But unfortunately it does not seem
to be available as TTF.

Have you tried the font "Video Terminal Screen", apparently it contains the
full character set and is a TTF of the original DOS style font.

MS Linedraw

It is usually installed with the OS on Windows 98 and earlier computers. Otherwise, you
can download it from one of MS's servers at

ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/softlib/mslfiles/gc0651.exe

Note that this TTF font is coded to be a Symbol font in programs such as Microsoft Word,
and access to the font and its characters may not be the same as "normal text" fonts.

Got it - and especially the characters look exactly like the "original"
dos font. Thanks a lot!

Don't know why MS doesn't include this font anymore in Windows. But at
least it is still downloadable!
Now with "Video Terminal Screen" and "MS Linedraw" it should be possible
to get an almost complete dos character set. Thanks a lot!
