Hello all winers! :)
I'm trying to install Beatware mobile designer on my ubuntu 7.04 FF
laptop, everything seems to be fine, installation runs smoothly to the
end but when I try to run it, the progress on the splash screen shows
that everything is initialized and fine, then, when I have to create
the project everything hungs, I mean the main application window is
not shown, but the wine server and the application itself is running
(and eating quite a lot of resources). When I run it from the command
line, I'm able to see the following output:
kris@kris-laptop:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Beatware/Mobile Designer
$ wine MobileDesigner_Trialware.exe
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x33f63c,0x00000000), stub!
fixme:dciman:DCICreatePrimary 0x350 0xfd126c
I/O warning : failed to load external entity "sf_templates.xml"
I/O warning : failed to load external entity "file:///C%3A/Program
%20Files/Beatware/Mobile%20Designer/sf_templates.xml"
I have done few hours of research on goole and come up with nothing!
I'm completly new wine user and never used it before but I need this
application to work on my final year project. Any help would be
appreciated!
My wine version is: wine-0.9.36,
The application is available at:
www.archive.org/download/tucows_363869_Beatware_Mobile_Designer/Mobile_Designer_1.0_installer.exe
Thanks a lot in advance again, I hope someone will help!
Have a nice day,
Kris

No idea what's wrong, but I filed a bug for you at
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8303

I think the sf_templates.xml warning is a red herring,
that file isn't present on XP, either.

I cannot reproduce your problem. After the splash screen, I can create a
template and then get into the main window. At the first start, the main
window minimized and a browser window popped up. Restoring the window
was no problem. This is both for a virtual desktop and for window
managment by wine. I also use 0.9.36

Hey, Daniel!
Do you use Ubuntu 7.04 FF?

No, Debian etch. That prompts the question: Where did you get your wine
from?

First I got my wine from the repo, but then I just follow the
instructions on wine hq website and installed the newer version! I
thought that maybe it will work with the newer one, the results are
actutally the same with both versions, the one from repository and
upgraded one! (Unfortunatelly I don't remember the version number from
repo), but let me know if you think this will have any significance
for resolving my problem.
The fact that you can run it succesfully is great, you are my hope :),
take care man!

If you got it from winehq.org, your wine should not behave differently
from mine. Try to contact the package maintainer about this.

Hey, Daniel!
I have build the wine source and install wine from scrach but the one
build behave exactly the same! Anyway, I'm planning to buy new machine
and have dual boot on it with windows so probably I will skip this
problem this way :)
Thanks again for your help!
