Hi everyone!

I just did the final step and migrated my home desktop to Linux. 100%.
I'm fed up with Windows. Now I have a nice clean OS, however I was not
so fed up with games released only for Windoze - so can someone assure
me that CodeWeavers - http://www.codeweavers.com/products/pricing/ -
unlike Transgaming's Cedega - is selling a real software license, and
not a subscription?

I will happily pay some money for CodeWeavers in that case, and support
the wine project. I just do not like the concept of subscriptions for
software.

Thanks & Best Regards!

Lars

PS: Go Lenny! :)

Have you tried the games you want on plain vanilla Wine? It's quite
impressive without Cedega or CodeWeaver's contributions. It's always
worth checking a game here:

Apologies if you already know this.

Depends on what you mean by "vanilla" - if you mean the plain wine, then
yes, I am currently trying that. I know it can do a lot, and I am
trying, but I wanted to check for CodeWeavers licensing in parallel,
besides, I do not mind donating to the project even if I do not really
need CW in the end.

Yap - that's my prime source of tips for configuration ;)

Right now I'm trying to catch up with where I already got on an older
Kubuntu client - Everquest loading up to the character selection screen
- currently the patcher & login screen works, but then wine crashes my
XServer... :(

Still interested if anyone can tell me about CodeWeavers.

Thanks & Best Regards,

Lars
