What can replace Bernie so I can run all my old games and apps once
again? I do not like that Apple dumped Classic but they did what the did
and I cannot run Bernie II the Rescue as a result.

Thanks,

John

Google SheepShaver... It emulates a classic Mac on the Intels.
Bernie does work with it, but I wish as you that Apple still supported
Classic.

Someone did a nice install of SheepShaver that simplified matters, but
I can't remember the name.

Or move to Sweet 16.

As Steve recommended download a copy of Sweet 16 from Sheppy's
webiste: http://www.sheppyware.net/software-mac/sweet16/ it is by far
the best GS Emulator for Mac, in fact it was designed from Bernie II
the Rescue.

Try Sweet16 (best for OSX) or if you want to use SheepShaver then the
bundle is called COI Chubby Bunny (think i found my package via a
torrent)

Bernie still runs on modern Macs, doesn't it? I was able to get it to
boot up on my MacBook Pro under Snow Leopard after downloading this
version:

http://www.bernie.gs/

Nonetheless, I do agree with other recommendations of switching to
Sheppy's Sweet16:

You downloaded Sweet-16. That was intended to work on Macs with OS X.
Bernie, however, was written for PowerPC Macs.

I just dumped OSX and went back to OS9 so I could have my Bernie To
The Rescue. I just hate the feel and the complexity of OSX. I much
prefer the look and feel of OS9 and earlier. I also like the compatibiity
of having AppleTalk connected between my iMac and my GS.

Henrik managed to piece together a version of Bernie that runs on OS X,
but it was very crash prone and not worth trying if you could still run
the Classic environment.

I stand corrected, then. I was thinking of Bernie 3.0.0.

However I do miss having Classic as it was lost last week when my new
