C-v and M-v stopped to work

Hello,
All of a sudden, C-v and M-v no longer work. I've just a few changes and cannot find where the actual error is. For instance, C-v makes paste. I use ubuntu 13.04. The .emacs and .bashrc are below. Any help greatly appreciated.

Server issues

Two seconds after emacs starts (server-start) is issued and I can then issue,
emacsclient -n /path/to/file
and emacs visits the specified file.
However, if I visit any /su::/path/to/file using emacsclient to visit files from the command line no longer works.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?... more »

Runnning conkeror on dired file

I frequently run various applications such as geeqie and abiword on a
dired item simply by doing: ! <application>. However, this does not
work if I run a browser command on an HTML file selected in dired such
as ! conkeror Conqeror opens, but it does not display the file content. Neither does... more »

Conkeror list gone?

While not directly related to emacs, I hope I'll get some sympathy here
regarding a browser that emulates emacs.
I find that I cannot subscribe to Conkeror mailing list. The link on the

ECB or Company

Hi, I was used to work with ecb for my c and c++ projects for a couple of years.
Now I switched to emacs24 and actually ecb doesnot work any more. So I
decided to try the built in company-mode.
But how to do so? I read [link] but have no

I am trying to connect from a Mac to a remote host running Ubuntu via tramp. I get a request for a password, but when I enter that, the system sits there and does not go any further.
