As for the rest of your rant, the code is there and open for you and
like-minded individuals to change to your heart's content. However, I don't
see a compelling reason to make massive changes to the framework of canon
emacs just so you can get nice tab support (which in my opinion are a
misfeature in a development platform once you've got enough of them open).
If you do, and can find enough people who feel the same way, be my guest!
