Subject: how to avoid "Symbolic link to SVN-controlled source file; follow link? (yes or no)"
Dear all,

I'm using gdb within emacs and am tired of getting this question:

how to avoid "Symbolic link to SVN-controlled source file; follow link?
(yes or no)"

I just want it to automatically accept this (= answer yes at all times).

How to get this behaviour?

Thanks,

Martin

M-x customize-variable RET vc-follow-symlinks RET

Pretty much any usefully keyword-spiked apropos search should have
turned that up.  It is also in the Emacs manual and its index.

That emacs manual is so big and I'm probably just a too bit stupid to
find what I'm looking for, but thanks for telling me.

Martin

Why is it considerend harmful, such that there is the need of a confirmation?

You should include what you're replying to. However: I don't consider it
harmful - just annoying when it happens all the time...
