I have Redhat Linux 5.0, and I was wondering what version of the binaries do I
need to download ???

All help would be appreciated.

Take away the NOSPAM in the header to get email address.

There is an xemacs-20.3 rpm file on the redhat server and its mirrors,
I believe in the redhat-contrib directory.

Works like a charm.

Happy hacking,

Eric

I tried 19.6 rpm and found, that xemacs dumps core. RedHat 5.0 uses new flavour of
libc library and some (distributed as binary) programs refuses to work.
I have not have any troubles with compiling from sources and running such version.

I've been having trouble installing this RPM ... it says that libpng.so.1 is
required, and even if I install with <--nodeps>, it won't run.
I looked around for this library some, without success.
Suggestions?

I had xemacs-20.3-3 installed before the upgrade to RH5.0, and it
segfaulted after the upgrade. I grabbed xemacs-20.3-5 from RH
PowerTools and it works.

There are rpm's available for libpng. Have you tried the contrib/
directory on RedHat's ftp site?

HTH.
