Description: Digital Signal Processing using computers.

Multirate filter
Hi everybody! I'm working on a UWB radar and i have an analog front end that samples the input signal in a nonuniform way. For the reconstruction filter i would use a nonuniform reconstruction algorithm from IEEE transaction on signal processing. These are links : [link]... more »

Guard Interval removal methods
hi all! i'm currently working on my thesis about FFT windowing.. but i'm a little short of ideas on how to remove the cyclic prefix components in the receiver.. i can't seem to find a literature that points specifically on this issues.. and one more thing, does timing synchronization is relevant on this problem?... more »

ITU J.83 Annex A Modulator Question
I’m working on an FPGA implementation of an ITU J.83 Annex A modulator; I know this is kind of re-inventing the wheel . . . but I wanted to see if I could do it. Well I’ve finished the modulator and it’s working great with our demodulator for 16QAM, 32QAM, and 128QAM. What I can’t figure out is that for 64QAM and 256QAM I can’t get our... more »

encoding ldpc
Hi, I'm a new poster to comp.dsp. Recently I've been digging in to LDPCs out of general curiosity and after reading several papers and trying out some techniques, I have a question about encoding LDPCs. There are two methods that seem to have the most general application, but I have not had success with either method.... more »

Repetition in Rate Matching
Hi All, I am looking into Rate Matching in UMTS. In de-Rate Matching (if this is the correct term), punctured bits I believe are replaced with 0. For repetition bits, if the inputs to the de-Rate Matching are soft bits (LLR), how do we combine the repeat bits or just discard one of the repeats? If we combine them, how do we do it, is it just a simple... more »

Is complex-conjugation an LTI operation?
Good morning all, This conundrum may be due to it being too early in the day for me to think clearly, so please tell me where I've gone wrong! It would appear to me that complex conjugation would satisfy the properties of linearity and time-invariance, and therefore could be categorised as an LTI operation. However, clearly it creates... more »
