Hi,

I cannot find a good page that has examples on positive and negative byte
stuffing.
anybody knows ?
How would I calculate the max and min rate of a sts-1 with positive and
negative byte stuffing at a rate of 1 out of 4 frames.

thanks

K

Maybe this page will help:
http://www.aarnet.edu.au/engineering/resources/sdh/hp.sync.pdf

one octet per four frames is 8 bits per 500 microseconds = 16 kbit/s.

So the max/min STS-1 rate is 51840 kbit/s +/- 16 kbit/s

Cheers, Huub.

This looks like it's calculated as:
90*9*8*8000 = 51840 kbit/s
For STS-1, since it's payload related adjustment, shouldn't it be:
87*9*8*8000 = 50112 kbit/s +/- 16 kbit/s => 319.3 ppm?

It's known that cash makes us disembarrass. But what to do if one has no money? The one way is to try to get the home loans and auto loan.
