Hello,

I have an old software (SCADA) monitoring program that is fixed to
operate at 9600 baud. The data aquisition device that I would like to
use with this program only works at 38400 baud. Rather than have to
purchase any additional hardware device to perform speed conversion, I
was wondering if there is a software utility that could essentially
run in the background and intercept all data to the designated Com
port and perform the speed conversion on it to spoof the SCADA
program? Anyone know of any software (freeware) that can do this?
Thank you.

Why not purchase an RS232 serial card and increase the crystal
frequency by a factor of 4? SCADA will think it is operating at 9600
but the card will in fact be operating at 38400.

Alternatively, I believe some high speed serial cards (460800 bps) may
have frequency multiplier jumpers for the same purpose.

If the multi-I/O chip on your motherboard supports 460800 bps, then
you could set the multiplier in one of its registers.
