overview of financial industry payscale?

Hello everyone,
Can some of the fin.industry pros give an overview of tha payscales
for various jobs. From what I heard the line up of top salaries in
inv.banking is as follows : most goes to mergers&acquisitions than
sales and trading than corporate finance than resaearch and lastly IT.
Is that right?
On the other hand in commercial banking IT is leading infront of
branch managers, loan oficers etc. What is the situation in mutual
funds( and insurance perhaps) with: portfolio manafers. risk managers,
brokerage, quantitative researchers, sales and marketing, Information
technology(programmer, DBA)?
