Hello,

I was wondering if someone can assist me with the SP.EDIT verb on UniVerse. I am trying to see the entire contents of a hold entry file contens. When I use the SP.EDIT "Display" function, it seems that I can only get the first 512 bytes displayed.

How can I display the entire hold entry contents?

Thank you,
Larry

You can look at the &HOLD& file entry directly.
IIRC it may have a link to the actual print file in Unix/Windows file system.

Thanks for your reply!

Actually, I did try that, but it seems the account I am working on does not have a &HOLD& file.

Is that something I can just create?

I don't have access to a UniVerse system to try out, it may be that there is only one system wide &HOLD& file? (Try another account, or set-file to another accounts VOC and look at its &HOLD& entry). Perhaps it's called _HOLD_ ? (maybe UniData/UniVerse mixup). I'm sure I remember going into the &HOLD& directory at the Unix (Solaris) command line (wrapping that troublesome &HOLD& name in single quotes). Listing the files. cat the file which had a line with the path of the actual print file then using more to list that file.
