microsoft has been in the business of stifling innovation, control

questions were asked as to why IBM gave it to gates
did they want to be associated with the PC -- it was too easy

too easy to burn the market
wreck it for thirty years

extract whatever money he could (gates etc), and move on

now microsoft have to compete (as there is no longer a monopoly)
-- it's found they cannot

they are incapable of innovation
