For Pick...
Advanced PICK 6.1.15.PRO134
Protected Mode for 386, 486 or Pentium
Media # 11006903 Media: 3.5 Inch
As far as I can tell everything is here, in the original box. I have
misplaced the original bright Red sleeve that protected the box, and I
have not found the original invoice, though I have memories of the
purchase price being around $1200 and the freight being $8 or so.
I purchased this from Pick Systems in the mid '90s, installed it on 2
machines, but could not make the jump to Pick terminology from the
terminology that I was accustomed to (I had been programming Cobol in
the IBM world since 1972). I had a brush with Pick in SLC, UT in the
late '80s and thought it wonderful. But I couldn't make it work for me.
I will monitor this thread for a couple of weeks in case someone is
interested.
thanks.
Sam,
While advanced Pick was a fine operating system and development platform
for Pick, it is rather like ancient technology right now.
I wonder how many user licenses you have. I cannot remember what the
user price was back in those days, but it's probably less than 10 users.
Also, they are generally licensed for installation on only one computer.
I've got an AP/PRO machine in the corner right now that I no longer use.
I suspect there will be lots of people who have Advanced Pick that they
no longer use.
Good Luck,
Larry Hazel
i believe it to be a single license.
i anticipate that this posting will appeal to a very limited
number of people, people interested in the 'history'
of pick, or those wanting a cheap platform for
personal education/use. not much beyond that. you
could install it on your ap/pro and impress family
and friends.
I have a computer sitting in the corner with Advanced PICK xxx PRO xxx
installed on it... hence the AP/PRO. (I don't know the version number
since I have not had it installed for years.)
There are several posters here, one by the name of Henry Kjulteis (spelled
wrong I know, but I cannot remember how to spell it) who might be
interested. I've seen Henry express interest in older versions of Pick
before.
I'll use my QM installation to impress people. It is much more recent and
much more impressive. QM is a recent addition to the multi-value family
and it is supported SOOOO much better than Pick ever was!
If you have any interest in QM, you can visit www.openqm.com.
Good Luck,
Larry Hazel
