Hello every one
am usint oracle 11g on win2003.
i have warning on the OEM : "96% of background dump area is used".

What is the init param controlling the size on the dump area?
How can i delete the trace files using OEM or SQLPLUS. (i dont want to
delete them manually)

thank you.

You can just delete older trace files manually - there will be no
negative effect on Oracle.

I do not use 11g, but I do not remember reading of any change on the
management of trace files once the files have been generated so I
suggest writing and scheduling a script that deletes trace files over
N days old then the process will not be "manual."
