The new SQL Developer 3.1 is a major improvement in the right direction.
Change management pack is now available for free. Apparently, not enough
people were buying it, so Oracle decided to give it away. The new Data
Pump wizard is also nice but it lacks some basic features. It isn't
possible to cancel an existing DP job from the SQL Developer. Bummer! How
did Oracle miss such an elementary feature?

I'm not into so called "constructive criticism", I prefer nagging on
Usenet. Eventually, the end result is the same and Usenet is much more
fun.

I noticed that, although you say you're not into "constructive
criticism", you put in a Feature Request for this:

< https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=43135:7:::NO::P7_ID:32481 >

I also noticed that readers can vote to get their favorite request on
top of the list, so I decided to push your request up the list. I even
tried to put in a second vote, but was stopped by a unique constraint:

<q>
ORA-00001: unique constraint (DBTOOLS.FEATURE_RATING_UK1) violated
Unable to process row of table FEATURE_RATING.
</q>

Nagging is the most common reason for divorce in the US (in one recent
list making the rounds). Nagios has to be one of the worst product
names that isn't actually associated with a disease.

lol!

It seems to have strange ideas who I am, too. I must be the usenet
oracle.

I'll be worried only if Nagios tells me that my wife wants a divorce. I
am monitoring everything, I have it all covered.

The alert tone for nagios messages in my iphone goes:
"nag-nag-nag-nag!..."

When it goes off in the middle of the night I'm not very popular...

We are not giving away the Change Management Pack. We are no longer requiring it for one specific use case - generating a DIFF report and DLL synch script using the DIFF utility in SQL Developer. This is a very important distinction. Would hate to see you folks run afoul of licensing and support...

I don't see a way to cancel a job either - any job that is - and I agree that's something that should be added to the 'to do' list. Thanks for the heads-up!

Thanks for the clarifications. As for the cancellation, I have a sort of
PHP tool that helps with administration of databases, I will add datapump
job management this weekend.

I am using popular music for my ring tone. I am using a very popular song
by AC/DC, which goes something like this:

Living easy, living free
Season ticket on a one-way ride
Asking nothing, leave me be
Taking everything in my stride
Don't need reason, don't need rhyme
Ain't nothing I would rather do
Going down, party time
My friends are gonna be there too
....

I wonder where that gets you exactly? Oh yeah I think I remember ...

Not sure I had ever deciphered all those lyrics before so thanks for
that!

I used to have Strange Love by Depeche Mode (since most calls are from
my wife anyways - even had a monophonic version on an earlier phone),
but now that I have a new phone and a turntable with usb to rip vinyl,
I have so many choices I haven't done anything yet. But I definitely
won't use "nag-nag-nag!"

This is as close as it gets to "nag-nag-nag!" and it doesn't sound bad:
