Ora 12899 error

Hi,
I have got ora 12899 error in the database. My question
is , the database for which i got this error , is working properly on
one machine(computer) but the same database on another machine facing
the ora 12899 error. How is it possible ? And what could be the
reason?
Plz help me out......

Apart from the comment by Vladimir Zakharychev,
at a minimum you should
- look up the error in the online documentation, and post the error
message, so as to avoid forcing others to look it up
- post the 4 digit Oracle version
- post the platform

Easy.
Either the databases are not the same (hint: they may have different
database character sets), or the data you insert are different, or
the client configuration is different (e.g. client character set).

Not interested. Sybrand is right. Why should we look it up?
Anyway, doubtless a character set issue, as others have said.
