And looking at your last posting about getting PL/SQL developer to works.. it also would seem that you have yet to grasp the fundemental concepts of client-server in the Oracle context. (local testing of SQL*Plus proves nothing ito network connectivity as it makes a local IPC connection to a dedicated server process and bypasses TCP/IP and the listener competely - add the TNS alias to it and whether you use SQL*Plus or TOAD or PL/SQL developer to test, is irrevelant - and makes the use of tnsping the first step in testing listener connectivity)
Sybrand may be brutal at times with his responses, but they are usually very accurate. So instead maybe you should try and look at what Sybrand has to say and not how he says it. Who knows. You can actually learn something.
