Subject: Indian Headhunters - WTF ???!!!
(this is regarding US market)

Ok, just WTF is going on ??????? somebody pls tell me !

Where do all of these Indian headhunters come from all of a sudden ?

I started looking recently after < 3 years and like 95% of the contacts
I been getting via Monster are from Indians and most of them I spoke
with have that heavy accent, and many of them just plain can not talk.

It's so drastically different from my past experience it seems rather
weird.

And this relates to Oracle how?

And why is the national, cultural, ethnic, or other background of the
headhunter an issue?

I speculate it's what happened to all the H1-B's when they were no
longer "needed," and their relatives sponsored by them.  But even
breathing such a thought will upset half the Indian subcontinent, so
don't tell anybody.  Not only can they not talk, from what I've been
getting, they can't read either.  Probably some are self-styled
entrepreneurs trying to set up body shops just like they did in
Bangalore.

I stepped in it in another forum:
http://tkyte.blogspot.com/2006/02/bit-of-rant.html  Glad to see it
isn't just me that has noticed it.  Have you gotten any that have the
fake senate anti-spam bill in the sig?  See
http://www.spamfaq.net/terminology.shtml#murk  Un-freaking-believable.

Then again, very few headhunters of any stripe have ever been any good
for me.  The ones that have get my repeat business - though that never
seems to work, either.  I do miss the good old days when _they_ would
make pretty resumes.  This being treated like a soup can on a shelf
bites.  I don't believe I have ever gotten any work after filling out
proprietary format resumes.  Anyone else have?

One can assume from the group posted it relates to Oracle, finding a
job, discussion.

If all of a sudden the process of finding a job becomes more difficult
due to a large proportion of bogus usage of Monster by people with
certain backgrounds, that is a legitimate issue.  It is especially
relevant if a small number of idiots make the largest proportion of
responses, unfairly making all members of a group look bad, wouldn't
you agree?  Personally, I would like to figure out a way to educate
these idiots and improve the process, and I don't mean that
sarcastically.  Somewhat like in a newsgroup, there is a lot of
monkey-see, monkey-do among these folk, and simply ignoring such a
dynamic does not extinguish it.

I am fully appreciative of the points you raise but I notice that
you did so without the ethnic connotation which was what I objected
to.

<sigh> guessed this would come up but just not the 1st reply haha.
no, not an "issue" at all....just so very different so sudden.
It's like you don't follow sports at all for a couple years
and "suddenly" one day you notice 90% of the NBA players are Mexicans !
OK i guess, but just you-know-what-I-mean ;)

The NBA used to be an all-white club: That is no longer the case.
The ethnic make-up of recruiters is and will continue to change. That
is a given.

The reason I objected to this when I said "Oracle how" is that these
are not just Oracle recruiters. They are technology recruiters. It is
not the case that all Oracle recruiters have one ethnic makeup and
C and Java recruiters are another. Equally you bringing up the fact
that they were from country X rather than Y seemed provocative and
I thought a bucket of cold water appropriate.
