Description: Our client is currently seeking a ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR for a 12 month contract role downtown San Francisco. You will provide consultation and support to technically complex projects in activities during all phases of the development life cycle. Support applications in database design, analysis, customization, testing, implementation, and maintenance of various environments. Provide technical assistance in resolving production system problems. Participate in investigating technologies and recommending solutions to meet Bank business needs. Position Requirements: -Strong technical skills in database environments on the Unix platform. - Previous DBA experience required in Oracle 11g database and Oracle Portal. - Experience required in Oracle application server. - Proficient in database externals and utilities and strong in backup and recovery strategies. - Experience using DataGuard, RMAN, and Oracle Messaging Gateway - Experience with replication using GoldenGate or Streams. - Working experience in creating database tables, setting up indexes, data constraints, database views, and referential integrity. - Experience in system monitors and database performance and tuning. Ability to troubleshoot errors and alerts generated by the DBMS. - Understanding of and ability to implement industry best practices. - Strong technical knowledge of multiple-level (client/server or n-tier) applications. - Experience developing database scripts. - Conversant with data modeling techniques. - Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel. - Good communication skills (oral and written) and strong analysis skills are essential.
