The Deloitte Oracle Package Technologies team is looking for an Oracle DBA consultant to join the team.
LOCATION: Pentagon City, Virginia
Job Summary:
The Oracle Database Administrator will report to the Development and Test Environment (DTE) Project Manager. The DTE is an IT infrastructure that hosts the development and test of mission critical applications and devices required by Deloitte Client. The main objective of the DTE is to host the coding and system test activities associated with approved application development in an environment that replicates the production IT infrastructure. The Database Administrator is responsible for all aspects of the maintenance and operations of the Oracle and SQL Server databases in the DTE.
Job Responsibilities:
Seeking a professional Database Administrator experienced in the following areas: (1) Installing, patching, and maintaining the Oracle RDBMS software according to security baseline; (2) Creating physical databases, as well as the schemas and objects within the database; (3) Provisioning databases and tables; (4) Monitoring the database, listeners, and underlying physical components against performance and availability thresholds; (5) Ensuring physical backups are complete on a regularly scheduled basis and performing recovery of the database binaries as required; (6) Troubleshooting issues related to the database and underlying technology stack; (7) Creating user accounts within the database and granting roles and privileges as requested, in accordance with the security baseline; (8) Remediating security issues pertaining to the database and software applications.
* Minimum of three years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting a three-tier (web, application, and database) IT infrastructure; * 1+ years knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager and Oracle Application Server. Knowledge of Oracle 11i e-Business Suite and Oracle Business Intelligence would be a plus. * Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Computer Science; * 1+ years experience working within a project team with diverse technical skill sets; * 1+ years prior experience with a shared services operating environment; * Must be clearable; active clearance preferred; * Ability to establish and manage priorities.
