First, your e-mail will be stripped out and you will be assigned a
unique identifying number. The table with the key to tie your email to
your unique identity will be stored offline. Your email is only
collected to allow the survey to be taken in two parts to reduce
survey fatigue. Second, all the data will be destroyed after three
years. Third, the study will not identify any users in the results
section.
By carefully protecting your privacy, there is little risk or possible
harm to you or your members in completing this survey. In addition,
IS/IT professionals are generally not considered an at-risk group.
Can you please complete the survey? The survey is in two parts and
should take less than 20 minutes. The link is here: http://www.itphdstudent.com/survey
Please contact me at 801-390-3059 if you have any questions.

Anyone who lacks the intelligence to understand that you don't put the
whole text of a document in the subject field is unlikely to be clever
enough to complete a PHD.
And I cannot dial that phone number from here, or didn't you realise
that Usenet is international?
Another group I posted in got this message too. I doubt that this guy is
legit, for two reasons:
1.) He'd likely be using a .edu email if he were really representing his
College
2.) He'd also likely be using a .edu site for his survey, not .com
But that's just my take on it. Who knows?
And one of the first things they teach you when doing surveys is how to
select a representative group of survey takers. Select an invalid group
and your results will be invalid. Posting messages in usenet groups is
NOT the way to do it!
