I have a packaged program I want to sell from my website.

If I zip the package and upload it, when it is downloaded again it won't open "stating it doesn't appear to be an "Archive File". I think the problem relates to the fact the zip contains a bunch of extraneous directory information above the actual package.

I tried uploading the package itself but then can't seem to download it again.

What is the proper procedure here for deploying a package so that can be down loaded and installed.

Thanks

Make a zipfile out of the files in ur programdir...
Upload the zipfile to ur website...
Make a proper link to the uploadet zipfile, and u should be able to download
it...
But about that the program will install on the endusers pc I can't say...

Thanks bsn. That is what I have done but when the .zip downloads it will not open because it claims it does not appear to be an archive file.

When I zipped from the programdir all of this directory information seemed to load over top of the package which is buried beneath.

I copied the package info directly to the C: root directory and zip from there, thus eliminating the overlay but I still get the not an archive problem.

Perhaps I am not setting up the .zip properly but can't figure where I am going wrong.

Thanks again.

Have you considered using an msi package? There is a simple version
of the msi creator on your windows cd.

Try upload the package instead of a .zip file...
